Is Dune: Awakening the Next Big PvP Game?

If you’re into PvP-centric MMOs, the new Dune: Awakening trailer should be Buy Dune Awakening Solari U4GM on your radar. Between faction warfare, spice territory control, and open-world PvP, this game could be a perfect storm of chaos and competition.

The trailer showed players battling in desert outposts, ambushing spice convoys, and fighting over storm-ravaged terrain. If those systems are truly player-driven, we could be looking at a game with EVE Online-level complexity, but grounded in real-time, skill-based combat.

I noticed that weapons seem to be projectile-based, with different classes and attachments. One scene showed someone using a jetpack to flank an enemy bunker, which makes me think verticality will be a big part of combat. That’s a fresh angle — especially on such an open, barren map.

Then there’s the sandworms. If they can be used strategically — like baiting enemies into high-risk areas — that would be amazing. It’s like the planet itself is a weapon.

Also, spice appears to have a risk/reward PvP angle. Overusing it might give you short-term power boosts but cause long-term disadvantages. I hope this isn’t just a gimmick. Letting players choose how far to push themselves could add real depth to fights.

Honestly, if they build a proper PvP economy around spice, gear, and territory, this game might carve out its own niche in a market that’s dying for innovation.

Anyone else planning to form a faction day one? I’m thinking spice raiders all the way.
